World Family Doctor Day Symposium

The World Family Doctor Day Symposium 2024 was conducted on 18 May 2024 at the Conference Hall of the Central Government Offices.
The Symposium is co-organised by the Primary Healthcare Office and the Hong Kong College of Family Physicians to celebrate and recognise the contribution of family doctors to the well-being of our citizens and community.
Professor LAU Chak Sing, Dean of Medicine, and other prominent leaders in the healthcare sector addressed the participants in the Symposium.
Established by the World Organisation of Family Doctors (WONCA), World Family Doctor Day is celebrated on May 19th each year to honour the crucial role of family doctors in healthcare systems worldwide, through provision of continuous, comprehensive, whole-person care - from preventive health measures to management of acute and chronic diseases, and coordination of care among specialists and different healthcare professionals both in primary and secondary care settings.
