Topic: “Whole System Intelligence for Health’”
The move from paper-based to electronic health records creates an unprecedented opportunity to move health care into the digital era and through so doing develop whole system intelligence for health. In this presentation, Prof. Sir Aziz Sheikh will share examples of how such digitised infrastructures can be used – in real time – to integrate service delivery with the development of cutting-edge research capabilities to understand the epidemiology of disease, assess disease burden and assess the safety and effectiveness of interventions on a continuous basis. Aziz will conclude by arguing that this data-enabled transformation is vital to ensure provision of outstanding, cost-effective health care to our ageing populations.
