The Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care, and the Comprehensive Primary Healthcare Collaboratory cordially invites you to attend the presentation "International Consortium of Primary Care Big Data Researchers (INTRePID) – From Concept to Reality: Transforming Ideas into Global Opportunities" by Visiting STEM Professor, Prof. Karen Tu.
Triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic, Prof. Tu developed INTRePID (www.intrepidprimarycare.org), bringing together global primary care researchers and encompassing visits to primary care for over 150 million patients across 15 countries. INTRePID fosters collaboration, networking, knowledge exchange, mentorship, and education for primary care big data research on an international scale. In this presentation, discover the story behind its origins to becoming a driving force for worldwide progress in primary care research.

About the Speaker:
Prof. Karen Tu is a Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine-Temerty Faculty of Medicine with a cross appointment in the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation-Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. She is a family physician, holds a Chair in Family and Community Medicine Research in Primary Care at University Health Network in Toronto Canada and is an Adjunct Professor in the International Centre for Future Health Systems-UNSW Medicine, University of New South Wales, Australia. She is one of Canada’s leading primary care researchers in the secondary use of primary care EMR data and administrative data.
