Researcher Connect Workshop:Big Data Research in Primary Healthcare – The Power of Data Integration

The Comprehensive Primary Healthcare Collaboratory (CPHC) Researcher Connect Workshop on Big Data Research in Primary Healthcare: The Power of Data Integration on 21 May 2025.  The workshop united clinical and research colleagues from various disciplines to explore ways to advance research in primary healthcare through interdisciplinary collaboration.

 

The focus of the event was to harness the potential of big data to drive transformative research in primary healthcare settings. Apart from fostering interdisciplinary partnerships, participants also discussed strategic opportunities for securing research funding.

Workshop Structure -

Research Showcase:

  • Integration of Novel Datasets to Open New Paradigms of Research (Leader: Professor Peter Tanuseputro)

  • Harnessing Big Data Analytics to Depict the Late-Life Functional Trajectory (Leader: Professor Doris Yu)

  • Research Frontiers on Place and Health (Leader: Professor David Bishai) 

Brainstorming Session:

  • Participants joined discussion on the following topics:

    • Generating innovative research questions and methodologies for big data applications in primary healthcare.

    • Identifying interdisciplinary research initiatives that integrate expertise across faculties.

    • Strategizing collaborative proposals for major funding opportunities to support ambitious projects. 

Participants valued the opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and envision the future of primary healthcare research—where big data and interdisciplinary collaboration converge to unlock new possibilities.
